Replica of ‘the golden Idol’
In Daan Paans solo exhibition for FOAM a 3D printed version of a replica of ‘the golden Idol’ is featured among six others created in other countries by different artisans.
In this exhibition the artist plays with the way in which we assign value to artworks and historical artefacts, and how our interpretations change imperceptibly over time. A cultural evolution caused by the makers’ cultural background, ideology, commerce, personal taste or available technology.
